HELP I DONT KNOW WHY I GOT GHOSTED?

I met this guy over the weekend at a recreational tournament (we will call him grey shirt). He was pretty attractive, and we ended up playing on the same team as one another. After every kill he got or every kill I got, we would high five and congratulate one another. As time progressed we started talking a bit more, cracking jokes and whatnot. I noticed that he talked to a lot of the girls there who attend his school. While this is not inherently a red flag it did give me the impression that he might have been an easy person to converse with and casually approach. Throughout the 6 hour tournament I also did my fair share of flirting, but I honestly did it for grey shirt’s attention. I tried to not make it to noticeable but I would slightly drift in his direction during water breaks or in between matches. I was working up the courage to ask for his socials. I asked him at the very end of the event, he said he did not have an instagram, so he proposed that we exchange numbers. He typed in his number into my phone, and even sent a text from my phone to his to save my contact. I felt the attraction between us and the social cues and signs I got from his were indicative of a romantic connection. He was leaning in during conversations, standing shoulder to shoulder and he listened to me intently. We texted for only a day, then he ghosted me. I really like him but we attend different schools and it’s likely we will never see one another again unless we make a strong effort to do so. Regardless of this, it hurts, I keep replaying everything that happened and I wonder if he ever liked me at all or if he was just being friendly. What should I do?
