Not sure how shy guys feels about me?

Met a guy a year ago working on a project. He pursued me and we went on a couple dates. He was very shy and nervous on both. After a couple months his reaching out slowed down and turned more towards friends. We still talk a few times a week. He makes comments here and there that hint at more than friends. He always volunteers to show up if I needed help with something, but doesn’t ask to go out. I finally asked if he liked me and if he’d like to go out again. He didn’t say yes or no, but that he wanted to meet to tell me what had been happening in his life. When we met he let me in on some medical issues that he hadn’t told many people about, but still never said how he felt about me.
