What does it mean when a guy says “Hehe :)” while texting me?

He says “Can I ask you a question?”, I replied go ahead, then he asks “Do you think I’m nice?”, and I answered sure. Then after he says “hehe :)”. Is he just being nice or is he being more of the flirtatious type? It shouldn’t be that hard to figure out, right? We’re both single.
