My best guy friend is a drug addict and alcoholic.

We hangout everyday and I’ve fallen for him. He just wants to be friends because he’s scared a relationship will ruin everything. Is this just his way of saying he doesn’t like me enough? Even though he tells me he loves me and acts like a boyfriend

Perhaps or maybe he knows the state he's in with the drugs and he knows it can ruin ahit foreal, just enjoy what you have, some people don't even have that
