Most will give up, some might try to reach out in a way that can respect your boundaries.

Whats important is if they attempt to respect your boundaries while making their wants known. If they just "bust down the door", lets call the police and be safe...
If they send you a single letter, they are at least leaving the door open for you to react to.

if they send you 10 letters... its a bit much and probably not good.

I think people often forget that "love" can make you really want to try to win someone back, but how you handle it shows your intention and if you are just "chasing your lost object"...
