Depends on the guy. Some have very macho fears about being seen doing anything girly, and most men don't find other people's interpersonal relationships as interesting as women do.
(Our brains do actually devote less real estate to interpreting social situations. I recommend picking up a copy of the "The Female Brain" sometime. It's pretty interesting.)
That said, some of us don't mind a little romance in a story if there's some other draw. I don't think I'd ever pick up a "romance story" where romance is the *only* draw to the story. But I do have a fondness for romantic comedies largely because relationships are a serious source of awkwardness and irrational behavior, which makes them a gold mine for comedy. While I do often enjoy the romantic angle, it's the comedy that draws me in.
Same for romance & action, romance & SF/fantasy, etc, etc. Hell, if you're an anime / manga fan, it's practically impossible to escape without going to the "so manly it must be trying to prove something" genres.

Its weird that there is a Twilight ad @ the bottom of these responses...
I can't say that I never have read one.
I was called "Luv Alwayz".
I don't even know what made me read it.
I think I was just bored.
But it was good...
It was about 3 women, all friends, trying to get 3 guys, all friends.
& of course it has a happy ending where they all end up together.
I never put much thought into this type of topic, but I learned something to day...
I know I'm very late on this but it came up, and I was curious, so...,
I hope I helped.
Sincerely,

That's a tough question to answer because it depends on what you mean by love story and romance novel. If "Gatsby," Hemingway, and Proust can be considered love stories (the stories are focused on a guy in love with a girl or girls) then definitely guys do. Those stories make up a huge chunk of classic literature.
However, if you mean those romance novels with Fabio looking characters on the cover, then not so much.I read the Twilight books...found it interesting because of the Vampires kicking the crap outta things everynow and then lol the whole love part of it was interesting tho
2 me if its an interesting story I don't really care. I ask you to find a book that is froma girls perspective that doesn't have love factored into itha I like storys that have a love plot in them but I get bored if love is the only thing that's happening in the story. I need more plot. however I did read the twilight books : P
no I don't like such love stories
it depends maybe in some situation I may like it
but most guys don;t
its a very girly thing and a lot of girls like these romantic novelsromance can't be the main thing. it has to be a secondary story element to whatever the actual story is about.
Nah.
I'll watch a romantic movie though.
I liked Twilight.
But I'm not going to read the books.Nicolas Sparks novels. . . Or just. . Lol check my profile . . Think it talks for it self.
My friend's friend borrowed the entire Twilight series from my friend and they kinda got together after that. Still the thought of the guy reading Twilight cracks me up just a little
I dont. I mean the most love thing I would read is a note lol.
