Especially where it comes from a person a man who is successful to a woman who is not. She trusted this man and he often flirted with her but he continued to do so after he started dating another woman and the first woman told him to keep his distance from her and then he came out with this remark..

Depends if he is doing it to insult and belittle or if he's saying it to motivate you to actually do something, it's called constructive criticism so if he isn't telling you because he wants you to do something then yes it's belittling mostly if he doesn't try to throw any solutions or motivation and is just saying it to make you feel bad.

Don't get me wrong tho, this isn't a healthy way to motivate someone either but sometimes constructive criticism works when some is more stubborn than normal
