So if you are interested in a shy guy, ask him out yourself. A shy guy can be a terrific partner. The man I mentioned who was too shy to ask a woman out probably suffered from poor self-esteem due to having pretty bad acne as a teen. I never thought about that until now but I expect that was it. I have no idea if he ever married. The woman he was crushing on liked him too, but neither of them ever said anything. Finally she became engaged to someone else and he finally said something a few weeks before the wedding. Her reaction was "Why didn't you say something a year ago?" She married the fiancee. A few years later I saw her again and she was bored in her marriage. She longed to travel and her husband was a homebody.

Don't let this happen to you. If you are interested, just ask. The worst that can happen is the man declines. So what? At least you will know and can focus your attention elsewhere.
