TW: He play hit me a bit too hard?

Me and a guy I’m talking to were watching a movie yesterday and he wanted to cuddle but we were struggling to find a cuddling position.
So I ended up laying my head on his lap and when I did that I noticed he was hard. So I pointed it out and he was like don’t do that. And I was like okay. So a minute or two later I was wondering what I did that made him hard so I asked and when he asked what I was referring to I tapped it (as a way of teasing him). Then he was like no stop again and hit me this time.

I can tell he did it unintentionally but it was a little too hard and I kind of wonder whether that’s a red flag or not. The next day he asked what was wrong because I was being off and I said he hit me a little too hard yesterday. He apologized and said it was a reflex and that he didn’t mean to. Then when I afterwards said it wasn’t a good look he was like “I’m sorry okay”. He mentioned he’s been trying to control his sexual urges.

What do you guys think?

He already apologized right after he did. We were watching the movie he spent the entire time trying to cuddle me to make up for it. Plus I didn't really know how to feel about it. I still don't. Just today he told me he's not really over his ex.

.. obviously him to not hit me again. I'm trying to see whether unintentional hitting is likely to happen again or not. Whether it signifies a deeper problem. Do you have a real answer or not?

Excuse me? I would wait to see if it happens again. Should he have done it? No, but he may not have realized how hard he hit you.
What does his sexual urges and feelings for his ex have to do with all of this.
