We have interns for the summer, one of them always asks for restaurant recommendations from me since they are not from here. People assume that he has a slight crush on me due to the way he acts around me. One day I noticed that I haven’t told him one of my favorite places so I messaged him on teams. I asked him if he like bbq and he said yes, I told him that I knew of a good place near where the interns live, he asked what was the name since they ate bbq at a place nearby their place on their first night. To not make things awkward, I mentioned the name of the place plus of another one just in case he indeed had already tried the place, he just replied with “Ok sounds good!”. I don’t know if how I worded things would seem like I was asking him out. Wouldn’t be bothered by it happening or not, but I’m just confused about the reply and wanted to get other people’s opinion?

It is possible that the intern may have thought that you were suggesting a date if he has a crush on you, but it's also possible that he just took your message as restaurant recommendations and didn't think much of it. Given that you provided a second option of another place in case he had already been to the first one, it seems like you were just trying to be helpful and not necessarily asking him out.
However, if you are feeling unsure or uncomfortable about the situation, you could always clarify your intentions by mentioning that you were just offering suggestions for restaurants and not asking him out on a date. It's always better to be clear and communicate your intentions to avoid any misunderstandings.
The date need a time and location and you being involved , so no it's a recommendation. So far.
Yes. Sounds like it.
