Why do guys become players after a string of long term relationships?

If a guy was in a string of long term relationships, what would have had fo happen to make them become players?

The reasons aren't universal but it is often the case that a guy will lay his heart out there and get betrayed. He becomes a player to cope with the heart ache. It is partly the decision to not be vulnerable again which makes it so they can't have deep connections even though they still crave them.

They get sick of the effort of trying to date women in a more committed fashion. It's a lot of work and stress. Going for casual sex is just easier.
