Does life for a man really start at 30?

Question for the older guys, what aspects of your life changed in your thirties in comparison to your twenties?

pBro I’m not even 30 yet I’m 29 and I definitely feel slightly different than my mid 20s. Not to say that I am boring but it’s crazy how much I’ve changed and I’m sadly slightly more interested politically yeah it’s still hard to understand what good content is from bad content as everything is so divided. I like how you said this because I never thought about being a man starting at 30 was a thing and I think I needed to hear that my 20s were definitely great but I definitely learned a lot about myself and more about what kind of person I want to become and also what type of people I want to surround myself with. My 20s were pretty rough. I didn’t go to school. I got in trouble with the law a couple times I got myself in and out of lots of trouble. I’m deafly not as reckless as I was when I was 23 but the wild child is still with me and I’m not that old yet and I definitely still feel super young at this bar I go to everybody’s old as shit. It’s crazy nowadays I’m more comfortable and have a bit more older friends like in their 50s. I met them at the bar. We hang out and go out to eat. I’m definitely very more assure about my actions and care way more about what I am actually doing with my time. 20 to 30 went really fast at this point I just wanna live day by day and live my best life because time flies. And I just want to do the things in life that I like doing and it’s hard I think another thing I was focused on in my 20s which I need to focus on more was other people. I’m definitely a caring person and sometimes I care too much about the wrong things and I put no care towards myself from time to time and learning to look out for myself being more self-aware self-conscious not making stupid, especially drunk decisions life really not that hard you Just gotta pay attention.

Lol at 20, buzz cut and weight gain same height now. My heaviest unhealthiest was 175 at 5’7 with man boobs, belly, no muscle lol oddly no hamstring muscle and I could even do a diamond push up. Times have been slightly rougher the past few years bc I got a dui 2 years ago and it’s still affecting me. Bc Covid, the process was super delayed it took 9 months to start my year of license suspension. I've been biking to and from work everyday rain, snow, freezing cold and now it’s about to be super hot! I’m now in the best shape mentally and definitely physically as I stay out of trouble and stay active biking, going to the park, play some basketball. Funny I’m actually 170 now but definitely way way stronger and slimmer looking than I was in my early 20s. I also could grow a solid mustache at 20 and now I have a thick mustache goatee and almost full beard. Not a wrinkle on my forehead when I raised eyebrows I remember at 20 lol as I always looked super young and still get carded half the time. A couple grey hairs that apparently have not I notice. Girls must be waiting for my birthday because last time I checked there’s no line of girls chasing me anywhere. I will say I’m more in touch with what I want and i definitely notice more often nowadays how girls pay more attention to me but I will say I gotta be careful. Girls my age want older and It just makes sense to me for so many reasons. Lol so not really because I’m 30 girls pay more attention. I guess I show that I give myself reasonable attention and having a great attitude goes a long way with both guys and girls. And a little tickle of advice if you don’t mind, if anyone has ever told you to “be yourself”, that is actually good and bad advice… more so not bad advice. When in doubt and feeling I bit timid, I would take a step back and first breath to clear my head then. Then remind myself to relax and to give them “my best self”. Or in other words I put my best foot forward, I’ll say what they are trying to hear.

For me, 1000% yes. I finally hit my stride in my career. Promotions and special assignments gave me the experience I wanted. I finally figured out how to dress and act like a man. (This is a game changer when it comes to meeting quality women!) My credit score was phenomenal and I bought my first home. I could afford to travel. I had the confidence to make a solid impression on women and found I wasn’t out just looking to meet a girl but rather meeting women. I knew what I was looking for in a woman and relationship and made choices prioritizing this. I learned how to be honest with myself and others. I was both more selective on who I let into my life and also more judicious with where I spent my time and energy. I had survived enough traumas in life to learn how to cope with the smaller problems that arise in any life.


Specifically, I lead a skilled team at work. I married my absolute dream woman (physically, emotionally, and mentally.). I had children which changes everything. I trimmed away ‘fake friendships’ (which sometimes hurt and other times really surprised me) and developed better ones in their place. I refocused on the ways I wanted to spend my time, money, and efforts.



Absolutely every aspect of my life improved at 30, then again by 35, and by 40 I was darn near living a dream life. I actually remember being in my late 20s once and worrying that the best years of my life were almost past, once I hit 30. I look back with absolutely laughter at that thought. It all just gets better and better.

I started an actual career after 32 instead of working a job for some boss guy. My real life began the moment I started my career and a journey towards early retirement.
