As in he’s saying he’s not good enough for you? It could be genuine that he realizes he doesn’t have shit in his life. But most of the time it’s because he doesn’t want to be in a relationship w her cause he isn’t into her that way. So rather than look like the bad person he’s trying to put it on her like he’s doing it for her best interest.
It means he thinks he isn't good for you and that you should be with someone else that can make you happy. Some girls think it's a backhanded way to break up by saying you should break up instead of him.
