Do you think it’s sexist if men don’t like watching women fight?

Gina Carano whose a former ufc fighter was telling a story on a podcast that a male fighter that she really respected told her he didn’t like seeing women fight. It wasn’t in a condescending way or saying that women couldn’t fight he just didn’t like seeing women hurt each other. I tend to agree with him i like to think of women as the more peaceful sex at least physically.

I think it's much sexier when women enjoy watching men fight, especially when one of the guys is her boyfriend, and she's told him that if he beats the other guy's ass, she's going to give him the best sex he's ever experienced in his life.

I mean I don't enjoy watching anyone hurt each other and the sentiment is a bit sexist fundamentally, but it's honestly not that offensive to me personally.

Then what did he mean by it? If it's a thing where maybe he watched his mom get beat up everyday when he was a kid and now he just can't see women get hurt like that, then I would understand. But to say you don't like to see women hurt each other when you're in an industry where men are supposed to hurt each other (and a lot of female MMA fighters are practically built like men), just doesn't make sense to me.

Anyways, my point is, for a male fighter to say that he doesn't like to see women hurt each other when he hurts other people for a living is almost like saying, "Women shouldn't hurt each other because they're women." And I think that sounds a bit sexist.
Whether he meant it that way, I don't know, but that's just how it sounds to me.

I have watched some and it really makes me sick to see two young attractive women get out there and injure each other. Yeah, I think it sucks, I dont' want to see that, anywhere

I totally agree. I’m not saying women shouldn’t do MMA if that’s what they want to do, but that doesn’t mean I have to watch it, or like it.

I’ve never watched a women’s MMA or boxing match, and I never will.
