I cried at work today and I wasn't planning on someone seeing me like this but my male coworker caught me. He was slightly shocked and became nervous, asking me what happened and if i like to have some water or coffee. I don't trust him enough to tell him what was wrong but I really appreciated his efforts to making me calm down ❤️
On one hand we consider are we to blame, did we mess up? On another hand we want to try and fix it; but can’t do much as crying isn’t something broken. Also it’s trying to be a professional at work. All those factors and others contribute to the reactions you described.

I don’t like it when anyone cries I get in a panic as I don’t know what to do, I don’t know if I should hug them or leave them, talk to them or shut up, mines probably due to abuse as I was left alone when I was upset so now I have no idea what to do when someone else cries.

The only thing I can think about is because he doesn't know you. If i know a girl so well and I see her crying, I come running to her and give her a hug until she stops crying or let go.
I hope you feel better soon with what you're going throughSame reason.. he doesn't know you enough , he has no idea what's the reason you are sad and what can he do to help you and also the doubt that whether you didn't like him interrupting and trying to help without asking
I'm a counsellor. People cry in front of me all the time. I see it as normal.
No, I feel bad that she is in pain. I do my best to comfort her and talk things through if she wants to.
We may not understand what is happening and don’t know what to do
Not nervous, just concerned.
I get rather annoyed over the fake cry.
