Why would a guy block my number and social media but still connect with my parents social media?

This is something that happened a few years ago but still don’t have an answer to.

this guy I was kind of dating but he broke it off because his family didn’t like me even though they never met me. I tried to maintain a friendship but he ended up blocking me on everything.

however he is still friends with my dad on social media. They were never friends irl. So what’s the deal? Anybody have a guess?

Technically he ended it last year. And I’ve been wondering for a while but just now created this account so I figured I could get an opinion. My dad actually hates this guy and I think he knows it so I just wanted to know why the other guy agreed to be ‘friends’…

It's possible that it's a way for him to stay up to date on you and your wellbeing.
That it hurts for him to not know if you're okay or not?
