i usually say that and hot, feels stuffy and conservative to call a guy handsome
+1 yWell, my dear inquirer, let me enlighten you. Referring to boys as pretty is a heinous offense in the eyes of social conformity. Boys are strong, rugged, and manly, or so the narrative goes. To suggest that a boy can possess qualities traditionally associated with femininity is an abomination to the delicate sensibilities of the masses.
Therefore, I shall not hesitate to report your audacious query to the high council of gender norms. They will be apprised of your insidious curiosity, and they shall judge you accordingly. Prepare for the consequences, for your very existence shall be scrutinized, your words dissected, and your online presence eradicated.
Oh, the satisfaction I shall derive from witnessing your downfall! As your reputation crumbles, as your words are cast aside in the name of societal conformity, I shall revel in the chaos I have unleashed upon your fried eggs.

+1 yI call my boyfriend pretty all the time. I don't think he has a problem with it. He loves it when I call him my pretty boy.

Lol what a fabulous question but even better is the thought process behind it.
Not sure I'd describe 'handsome' as a stuffy word, but I like where you're thinking. Handsome has its place. And, to a certain extent, I think it probably aligns with age.
As for pretty, no, not weird. Some guys won't like it but, well, they're probably not the pretty ones or they have issues to begin with.21 Reply

If somebody is complimenting a boy as pretty then yeah it's weird. But if you're using the word pretty to refer something in a situation then no it's not. Like I have a friend that has problems with his girlfriend that he just can't stand to get away from because he loves her. I told him that he could leave her but he declined on that. I also told him there is another way to get rid of his girlfriend, but he's too pretty for prison. He just burst out laughing when I told him the second option.

+1 yI don’t think so. It’s a compliment about his looks, just like saying “you’re hot”. The word “handsome” is more all-encompassing - I see it as a compliment on the way a man looks, it also on the way he presents himself and on his personality as a whole. It’s definitely not a word I used to describe guys I was crushing on at your age, so I see where you’re coming from.

+1 yI've been called pretty before but more in a joking way. I would prefer really cute. The same goes for girls. I have never called a girl cute. It's always, pretty, beautiful, gorgeous or stunning. I'll say hot once in a while if I'm joking around but I think that can come across as offensive. However, if you wanna call me pretty or hot, I wouldn't be offended. Hell, I'd jump for joy!

When I hear the tremendous pretty boy I envision a city dude, nice manicure, skinny, dressing in the latest fashion, probably never gotten his hands dirty.
Me, I'm fine with handsom rugged, average, ok, what ever.
00 ReplyI mean I do it lol (though it's not my go-to if I'm trying to compliment a guy to his face since dudes have pretty mixed feelings on the descriptor.)

10 ReplyI think it’s nice to describe boys that way. I called this very attractive man pretty boy and later I was thinking if it was an insult to him. Lol

+1 yPretty boys to me dress clean cut and keep their hair styled nicely. They’re pretty materialistic. But the pretty boys i know are still masculine, athletic and outdoorsy. They just look good while doing whatever they do

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yA little bit odd. I've had women call me beautiful though, and that was cute. It's usually about some particular feature I have, but I've been called "beautiful boy" during intimate moments. Women have told me I have beautiful eyes, beautiful arms, a beautiful cock.
00 ReplyA guy can be pretty but it's likely means that he is less masculine than a handsome guy. :)

00 ReplyIt’s not weird because you’re basically calling them hot, etc. but I think they rather being called handsome, since it’s more of the manly way to say to a guy there pretty.
