A guy friend (I kinda like him) and I had a fight recently where at end I asked him a question for closure which triggered him and stuff.

Two weeks later, I was not feeling great so (childish I know but I was just sad) I was posting some sad poetry and stuff that I wrote relating to our fight on my stories. He was up at night watching them way past his bedtime. He did not reach out to me, but he is generally bad at expressing maybe that's why.

Does he care?

Otherwise why else would he bother to stay up?

I mean, I write usually as well on different topics and post. Now it was just about him. Not like I suddenly turned into a poet. What's wrong with sad poetry?

Yeah, I dated a girl like that. The fact she also wrote about other stuff didn't help. The sad poetry in particular is just cringe. It feels super attention-grabby and it's really obviously about the particular person, so it's like you're talking to the person but you aren't actually talking to person and communicating.

Well in my case this guy thought we were growing too close together and wanted me to stay away/pushed me away which hurt me. So there's no chance I can directly communicate so this is the only way to tell him how much it hurts because I really like him.

I don't know how he would react if I call. But he won't think I was mad haha, the stuff I posted was more emotional telling how hurt I was

To be clear to be clear I was using mad in the mentally unstable sense. And guys often think girls are mad because of extreme emotions. I wasn't there so I have no idea but you say he was triggered at the end of the discussion so I am interpolating.

I might be quite angry at a moment but after sleeping regret I allowed myself to emotionally react even though provoked.

Regardless of what happened and what the argument was about, you seem to regret and miss him since you are sad and asking if he likes you. I don't know if a guy friend means romantic partner or potential partner but I am guessing so because while pure friends might argue it takes romance for it to get really nasty and vicious.

Was your triggering question for closure really needling and designed to trigger? Did it go straight to a sensitive spot you knew he has?

If so ring to apologize. We will forgive girls a lot if they apologize. Unfortunately girls will say they want to make us feel better rather than apologize. That approach makes us seeth and want to terminate.
