We have been friends for years at least 3. Best friends, like tell you anything open book kinds of friends. Not everyone understood our relationship but we did.
I work but he is a foreign exchange student which means he sticks around during holidays. Recently however he took a summer internship 10 hours away. We would video chat frequently but hadn’t seen each other in months. We began planning a trip that would be our ultimate friend time upon his return.
We went on this trip expecting to do some activities during the day then hit the nightlife late. He started acting odd though like he didn’t want to stick together and I’ll take you somewhere an go another place. Now we had both expressed hopes of finding some vacation flings and cool friends but I thought we were still trying to at least stay at same venue. After I thought he was stepping in front of a car an we bickered about it he said he was leaving me and I said fine we both walked off. He had no phone so I had to look awhile until he got wifi and texted back at the car.
Next night we went for dinner and my mom had called needing to tell me something but my phone had died. I also didn’t want to run around with no phone so was buying a charger to juice it up a bit at the car, see what mom wanted, then walk around some more. When I got off with my mom he said this trip was terrible and the worst he’d ever been on an we just needed to go back to the house. That I worry too much and give off guilty vibes for being out and having fun. I started crying bc he’s never been like this. Also keep in mind most of the day he slept or said he had an important call so we didn’t get to do many day activities either. I was actually the one tho going in the club and found a couple guys to hang out with an he didn’t participate at all or bring any girls over. This morning instead of staying we left early as he arranged to meet his sneaky link back home an go out tn instead as she doesn’t make him feel out of place.

What do you mean you 'thought he was stepping in front of a car' and were bickering about it? That doesn't make much sense.
I yelled at him to stop so he wouldn’t get hit a then was like what are you doing? He said I worry too much that the guy had waved him on before stopping an I’m treating him like a kid
Yeah, sounds like you've grown apart.
You probably grew apart he sounds like he got a girlfriend and didn't care to go out like u did. You should have just left him at home if he wanted to sleep all day.
Why men and women think they can be "just friends", is beyond me
