What does it mean when a guy sneaks up behind a girl and whispers in her ear?

So far I’ve had 3 different guys do this to me while I was busy doing tasks. They would either creep up behind me and whisper “hey…” directly in my ear. Then as I turn around startled, they would smile or laugh. Or sometimes tap on my right shoulder and I would turn my head and they move around facing the left dodging my direction and laugh.

What does this guy behavior mean?

It means he/they are messing with you. If your easily surprised or startled and they learned about it, it's probably the more childish parts of their mind spurring them on.

Personally, I don't do those kinds of things. But my current partner is extremely easy to startle, and many times I've brought her a snack or drink in the evening while she's on her PC, and spooked the living hell outta her. It's not intentionally, she's just easily spooked.

Depends on what they are whispering.

"Your eyelashes are like butterflies when you sleep, please don't close your curtain at night." vs "I want to play a gaaaame" vs "May I borrow your white out?" are very different.

One of the many wrong things l man can do to a woman is to sneak up on them.


Women are always in danger of physical, mental or psychological abuse from men they don’t know, don’t trust or trust too much.


Women are hyper vigilant when it comes to their well being.


Sneaking up on them in such a way frightens the shit out of them. Plus, getting into a woman’s personal space, in anyway whatsoever, without an invitation, is crossing her boundaries.


It is a sure fire way of losing her respect and definitely NOT a turn on.


So these dude trying to get the OP’s attention, is getting the wrong kind of attention and could get the dude punched, shot, stabbed or maced. Not the best way to learn from their mistakes.
