He's either playing childish games with friends, totally immature, lying to you or all three. Honestly I wouldn't even want to associate myself with someone that plays stupid games whatever the real reason he did that was. It isn't worth wasting time with people like that because I'm assuming he is close to your age and therefore an adult.
