Guy's Behavior

Could he actually like me? Why did he say we were dating? Am I in over my head?

So where I’m from most of us are religious people. In our country most of the people believe in god and go to church once in a while. We’re not religious in the sense of staying virgins till marriage, we just go, worship, pray that kinda thing and talk about God to others. But my dad is a priest which means we have to go to church a lot. My parents want me to marry a guy in our church but I have only ever thought two of them are good enough because they’re really serious and seem mature, they seem like nice guys. One is gone because he went to the military and after that got sent to a different city. The other one ( we’ll call him Keith) is our youth leader and the other day I had a dream about us making out. Today we were at youth choir and I kept staring back at him and I think he noticed I looked at him and I kept staring for a while, I’ve been told holding eye contact shows confidence. After youth he walked home with me and my brother, we talked about a lot of things like us not liking to be seen in our church clothes by our peers/classmates. Then this guy who used to be our youth leader comes up and says that we make a cute couple and I laugh then Keith asks what he said and the he repeats and says” I’m only saying this now your boyfriend’s not here but you two make a cute couple.” Then I tell him that we broke up and he asks “Are you two dating now?” And I say no but then Keith says “Yes Yes we are.” And I just laughed it off.
When I asked my brother about this he said that that’s just how he is.
Keep in my mind we’re not friends. Me and my brother aren’t friends with anyone in our church tho my mom says it’s like a big family but we’re just really quiet and keep to ourselves. I do know if I’m ever in need I could go to any one of them but I just don’t really fit in they’re all really party type kids and that’s why I like Keith because he’s different still fun but really respectable&serious. I like that he has maturity.
