Was this a dumb question to ask this guy I like?

A close friend of mine is getting married soon and needs some suggestions on a wedding ring. I’m out of practice with what guys like so I sent some pics to a guy I really like and asked him what he thought. I made it clear the ring was not for him so he wouldn’t be uncomfortable but he refused to pick or tell me which ones he liked, even though he admitted he liked several. Why was this such a big deal to just say, hey, this one is cool?

Maybe he didn't want to answer because what if he chose a ring and the actual guy who would be wearing the ring hated it.

I don't understand why your friend wouldn't know what type of ring her man would like. Even though I never got married in the end. I definitely had an idea of what type of ring my now ex would wear when he got married.

I think he probably felt a little nervous or caught off guard by it. He may not have known exactly how to respond, especially if he knows you like him.
