Why has he started staring at me after finding out that I like him?

He stares from afar on purpose (turns around when he sits in front of me) and holds his stare and sometimes looks surprised when he sees me enter the room or looks back at me when he leaves. He also talks about me to his friends who seem curious about me. Is he just flattered and curious but not attracted?

I definitely would do this unless I was interested. And if he was I would make easy on you and just tell you that I like you too. But maybe he is hoping you will tell him first. I don't know. I guess the best course of action for you would be to confront him and tell him you like him and ask if he likes you back.

The worst that could happen is that you learn he was just teasing for some cruel reason. If that's the case you're better off learning that now to prevent this from dragging on and hurting more later.
