Basically he doesn't want you getting attached or trying to flirt with him because he's not interested in you outside of friendship.

It sounds like he got impatient or assumed you weren't into him...10 years, really? Wow. He never made a move or asked you out that whole time? It sounds like he did like you, but since you never showed or acted on it, he just gave up and moved on.

That or he's trying to make you jealous (possibly this). He's hoping you'll ask for details, who the other women are, and see how you will react.
