Guy knows I like him, asks to hang out but talks about other girls?

A few months ago, i told my friend i liked him and he told me he just thought of me as a friend. I was okay with this, though it did take me some time to process it. I tried to distance myself a little bit while still staying civil, but somehow we got closer in the past few months. I stopped initiating hanging out and texting for my own sake in the beginning, but he would be asking to hang out and get dinner one on one. He even invited me to celebrate his birthday, which just ended up being me and him because he didn't invite anyone else. I thought it was weird, but slowly started agreeing to hanging out more. despite this, he would talk about other girls in front of me all the time. And I'm not saying in a group setting, i mean whenever we hang out one on one too. He would make comments like "oh, too bad she's married" or "I'm gonna be single forever" whenever we talk about classmates, etc. i have tried being dismissive when he makes these comments and even tried being supportive but its a little disrespectful. what do y'all make of this behavior?
