Why is he only sending me memes?

So i (18G) met this guy (25B) on interpals, we both live in the same country but he still texted me. he's really funny and we have the same type of humor and writing style. When i mentioned i have to take a lvl 2 English exam he offered me to help with English so we continnued to talk on WhatsApp. everything was great we chatted for hours every day he wrote me good morning and good night almost every day. But last Saturday he started to ghost me. when i send him a text or a meme he only reacted with heart and didn't text back. i think that this is really rude but i know he have to work so much becouse he's been talking about how tired he is all the time. then we didn't speak for 2 days. after that i thought that is would be silly to cut contact becouse of this so i texted him good morning and a send a meme. He reacted almost immediately and reacted to it by a heart. but he didn't answer. i was really sad so after 10 hours of no reply i deleted him on interpals and deleted his number and him on WhatsApp. i felt emberassment. After an hour he texted me that he have so much work but i dont know if i believe him. so i texted him back but we dont have that connection anymore sadly. after almost a day he sent me 2 memes. i really like him but if he doesn't like me i dont understand why he keeps sending me memes.

I listened to your answers and continued to answer his messages. I know he works hard and I respect that. but it appeared that he only texts on weekdays and he not even available on WhatsApp on weekends. we live quite far from each other, but this weekend he came to the neighboring town, which is half an hour away from me, and he texted me , but he didn't even ask to meet up. I feel awkward but I feel im a boredom pursuit. according to you, should i let go of the idea that we will get together?

He keeps sending you #memes because he enjoys engaging with you through that medium and finds joy in sharing humor with you despite being busy and preoccupied. While it might not necessarily convey feelings, the frequency and timing of your interactions suggest that he values your company and appreciates your humor, but his prior commitment of work is taking most of his attention, leading him to communicate mostly through reactions and minimalistic content. It would not be in accordance with his character and habits to abruptly cease contact or suddenly confess undue attention without any previous indication, and as such, he may very well like your presence and company despite it being minimal in nature. Remember though, the internet is full of various kinds of communication, not all of it needs to explicitly verbalise affection.

Why do you not believe him when he says he has lots of work? As I read the details my mind went straight to this guy got busy with something or something happened in life that caused him to step away and be occupied. Then I read down at the bottom he told you he was busy with a lot of work. I am not sure why you are doubting that. People get busy and don't have time to be on social media. Maybe all he could do is like what you were sending and didn't have time to respond. That is a real possiblity.

that seems silly, because he bothered to respond quickly with heart, and you expect more? he replied with a heart obviously he is busy and won't text many times per day... wait til tomorrow evening not less. silly to react "after 10 hours of no reply i deleted him on interpals and deleted his number and him on WhatsApp" be patient in general and don't act so desperate and impulsive.
