How long is too long to wait for a response from a busy man?

He states he is a introvert. We've only been trying to get to know each other for a couple weeks now. He's a busy man & I'm a busy woman so I'm respecting his boundaries at most. So we're both in the mindset of not wanting anything serious at the moment. I'm the type to make time for what she wants. One thing I don't like from our conversation about 2 weeks ago was when he said, "I don't think you should be wasting your time w/ me". I've been wanting to reach out for some clarity however, I don't want to sound too pushy or pressure him into something.

You are not the only one who makes time for a person she wants. Almost every man will make time for the woman he wants.

I think you should insist on getting a man who will be truly on fire for you.

On the other hand you say you want "nothing serious" and I have never played the game with that premise. Maybe for some sex after a stressful day at work it can be ok, even if he is reluctant.

He should not take more than 24h to answer and it should not always be that long. A man who wants you will be much more active than that.

Well if he is workaholic then he was right to tell you not to waste your time on him. If he is very busy, a workaholic then he won't be able to make time for you anyways so that makes sense.

Hence my suggestion is you should not wait.

I used to date an extremely busy engineering specialist. As in he barely had time to turn around some days, 12-hour shifts and very often on call because he was expected to fix any issues with the machinery on top of his research and everything else.

On top of that he was having financial problems due to a lawsuit from a family relative that blamed him for his father's conduct.. basically a bad family deal.

He never went a day without responding to me. On occasion he would go 2 or 4 days but he would always let me know that he is tied up.

I've heard from friends that have tried online dating that "busy man" or "busy woman" is synonymous with handling multiple people at once. An easy excuse after all to claim "busy" when reality is, you're on a date with someone else.

Reality is if you're serious about someone you're never too busy. Just as how decent folk are never too busy for family.

The fact you say you're not into serious matters right now basically means he's "busy" in that you're not as important as you think and he told you that by his comment

Ummm... you sounds like you're lying to yourself if you say you don't want anything serious.

Obviously you've become a bit attached to this man who was honest and said he didn't want anything serious. Probably stopped reaching out when he realized this - that you're lying to yourself.

Just be honest and look for a serious relationship if that is what you actually want.

Leave this man to his own plan - which is clearly dating and sleeping around with multiple women. If that's what he wants. At least he's being honest.

No one is ever too busy to take five seconds to text someone hello and wishing them a good day, or asking how they are. If someone likes you enough, you'll make the time. There is always downtime during the day at some point. Even waiting in line for a coffee, or some moments before going to bed. There's no excuse when someone claims to be so busy that they just hardly speak to you during a two week period. That's nonsense.
