Why does my married male coworker act this way and how can I make my situation less awkward at work?

I’m trying to understand the intentions of my coworker (30 M married). He leaves me drawings of hearts and smiles on papers that I will see. He gives me random compliments. He always looks happy to see me and doesn’t miss a chance to say hi to me. Also, he gets awkwardly quiet around me. When I need help, he’s eager to help. He’s also very chivalrous. I find him looking at me a lot and frequently we lock eyes with each other without saying a word. He likes to wave and smile at me too.

All of this attention has caused me to become nervous around him. I’m strongly attracted to him too. It’s like there’s a strong unspoken connection between us.

I have to work nearby him and sometimes it’s just the two of us at the end of the day and in these moments we rarely speak to each other. When I do speak with him, it’s like my mind goes blank and I get lost in his eyes and my words come out too quietly. How do I make this feel less awkward at work?
