My guy friend usually talks to me about sex, but yesterday he asked if I would ever be friends with benefits with him. Could this be why he will often bring up sex in our conversations? Could it be because it turned him on?

Having someone you can talk about sex comfortably should not be taken for a given. You should feel special above all, secondly you further develops the intimacy of the relationship into a romatic (open or closed) or a deep trust friendship. This would be an ideal window to friendzone someone if thats your intention.

There is really nothing inherently wrong with talking about sex. Sex is natural and almost every does it. Some people just have less hang-ups about it than other.

That said the fact that he suggested a friends with benefits relationship does suggests that he might have been testing the waters with you before he proposed that change to your relationship. Not necessarily though. Could be a coincidence.

This is my thinking as well. I have friends who are guys and there isn’t any sex talk at all, just platonic dinner/coffee/movie meet ups.
