How to deal with a clingy partner?

So yeah my partner is really clingy and I talked to him about it but he seems to continue such behaviour. He didn't have a dad growing up but I feel that since we are in our 30's now we shouldn't let the past effect our future so much...

Not letting our past effect our future is one of the most ignorant things I have ever read. He had a different life than you and you seem to only see from your own perspective. Anyways if you want it to work keep communicating and have him go to therapy. He obviously isn't introspective enough to work through his trauma.

I don't care about having a clingy partner or not. He kisses me he hugs me. It's ok. I love him and he can make what he wants. He can do. I love my boyfriend!

A bit clingy is good. You want loyalty and bonding, not aloof indifference.
