Ok so I still have my dog from my previous relationship with my ex girlfriend. He would light up whenever he was around both of us his tail would be going crazy. We have since moved into different apartments. Now I know by dog loves me but there was a couple who was at the dog park who brought their dog and he ran up to them wanting attention with the same look he would give myself and my ex girlfriend. Is this reason to possibly entertain rehoming him where’s he’s interacting with multiple people and not just one person all the time. Also I wanted to state that when I seen him go up to them it slightly brought a tear to my eye because it hurt my heart and I was thinking I’m sorry boy everything collapsed.

Don’t rehome him, he’s already going through a big change losing his “mom” (your ex), having you around at least lets him stay around people he’s familiar with. I also had a dog with an ex and I miss my dog every day, I moved to a different state and I feel guilty leaving my dog behind bcs he won’t understand why I’m gone - so it’s definitely normal to feel bad for your pup. Just give him all the love and attention that you can, spend more time with him, take him out to meet friends or the dog park.
Jesus Christ, the fuck? No! Don’t rehome him because he socializes with other people. He’s a dog and that’s what dogs do.
If you do that, he’s going to wonder why the hell you gave him up. Of course dogs are going to interact with other people. That’s actually a good sign.
Rehoming? What is he, a pigeon?
