I rarely block people no matter how much I hate their opinions. I’ve been on and off GAG for 10 years now. Maybe blocked 4-5 people altogether/all-time and it’s always because I had hit a breaking point with themselves

However some people do much more than just block on GAG. 2 months ago there was a censorship “posse” on here who were consisted far leftist censorship communist types. They were flagging and removing virtually anything that even remotely went against their ideologies. The especially censored any criticism of feminism but they also were quick to flag anything any critical of leftist viewpoints was quickly taken down. I bet they all worked at pre-Musk Twitter.

Anyway I believe it was a group of 4-5 young women and one was a moderator who later lost her privileges (thank you GAG for resolving that).

The the only time I’ve ever reported a post on here is if it was someone bullying or worse talking inappropriately to a minor. Also just name calling on here with no context will be flagged. I’ve been called every name in the book on GAG but as long as I get to fight back I don’t mind having a fight. But if some rando trolls me for no good reason or context I’ll flag their posts. But if there was a lead up to the fight that’s different.

But other than that I 100% believe in freedom of speech no matter how much I hate the opposing party’s views. “Safe spaces” are for the weak and pathetic. But some people on GAG don’t believe in freedom of speech at all and that’s not an exaggeration.

I'm 1 of them... but it's not because of a personal opinion. I've probably got several hundred people on here blocked, and 98 percent of them are female. If you give a typical American answer-youre outta there, as far as I'm concerned. Americans can't critically think, they don't WANT to learn anything new... tbh, they're anyone educational and as closed minded and intolerant as Hitler. They don't give a "differing opinion" as you say. They insult you, cuss at you, put laughing emojis, type a bunch of jealous, divisive, hateful crap that sounds regurgitated from a rapper or celebrity on tv... and the VAST majority haven't lived all around their OWN country, let alone lived in other countries. So their personal experience on a global scale, is virtually zero. That's why they type what they do. 98 percent of the perpetrators of this-are females from the U. S. It's EASY to tell who they are, by their very first response too. I'm not wasting time bantering back and forth with an empty mind that's intolerant, has VERY limited experience, and thinks they're a celebrity because they've sold content, smoked weed and fucked a few wannabe gangsters. They don't have anything worthwhile to add.

I have only blocked 2 people in my time here. Both were blocked yesterday. One started bragging to me in DM's that he was sexually abusing his three daughters. He got reported to GaG, blocked and the conversation was deleted because it was disgusting. And the other responded to one of my opinions and was incredibly rude and a bully. At first, I didn't block him, I replied that he needed to act like a grown-up and be respectful. He sent another bullying reply and I blocked him. I don't believe in bullying and will not stand for being bullied myself anymore or standing by and watching someone else being bullied.

Although, I know that many have blocked me. And my opinion on that is... I don't care, I was not put on this planet for everyone to like. For most of my life, I have been bullied and made fun of because of my weight... now at almost 50 years of age, I have reached the point in my life that I really don't give a shit what anyone thinks about me. I am here to tell you what I think, my opinion, and my point of view. If you don't like it, you can tell me that... I'm okay with that. But don't be disrespectful, rude, or throw insults at me. Or if you truly are an adult you could just keep scrolling and move your ass on to the next comment.

I post my opinions, my thoughts, and my experiences. I won't lie because I have no reason to lie. I don't know any of you, wouldn't know you if I passed you on the street so why lie? That's just stupid.

Better to talk to and focus on people I get along with, than it is to worry about why people I don't get along with suddenly dissapeared or no longer communicate with me.

I have yet to block someone. I don’t silence opinions, it makes mine look that much better.

On a side note, I have a double standard. I don’t mind actual girls blocking as opposed to guys. I understand given some of the horrible things said by men on here.

Good riddance to them. It's better than when sites like this one remove posts they don't like or someone complained about.
The complainer can block it and be done forever but when the site removed your words, it's called censorship and its not right.
It's a form of brain washing people, not allowing other ideas just cuz a couple are offended, requiring haters to deal with it or ignore what they don't want to see.

Sometimes I block people for just a few days to give them a chance to calm down and then I unblock them.

It isn't just for disagreeing, it's only for those really long threads where someone just keeps replying to try and get the last word with no intention of having a mature discussion.
