Compliments from women are as rare as an eclipse. It simply doesn’t happen and when it does it is so jarring you remember it for years. Who knows if you’ll be alive long enough to hear, “Did you get your haircut? l one more time.

That’s about as good as you’re going to get, by the way. You could diet for a year and live in the gym, dress well, and you’d still be invisible. Oh women may notice you, but they won’t say anything. And if they somehow find the courage to say anything, it’ll usually be something like, “Did you get a haircut?”

How do you react if a girl compliments you?

They rarely directly compliment. Instead they ask a question. “Did you get a haircut?” is not the same as “I like your hair. It looks good.” So my only response can be yes/no.

Last time I got a compliment was from a girl who was crushing on me and she said I smelled nice. Then proceeded to walk away saying smell you later! She was the best other than that probably 6 months prior

Yes, most of the time we don't get. Not sure about the reason, maybe womans are too shy or maybe they worry that we will get it wrong, probably. But yeah, most of the time we don't get it.

From girlfriends, yeah, probably most of the time.
From girls, any girls, from university, work, etc, no. You could say "Hey, you have a nice hair!", she won't answer back, just "thanks", she could say "You too!", but shhhh, it might get in another direction ;-)
