I think this urban definition is a good explanation: A pick-me girl is a girl who seeks male validation by indirectly or directly insinuating that she is “not like the other girls.” Basically a female version of a simp. Characteristics of a pick-me girl: lets men walk all over her because of her “CaReFrEE” demeanor, only hangs out with men because they’re “unproblematic”, exerts qualities/characteristics of her male counterparts that were not initially present to be more likable and relatable to them, etc.

I've known a few like this on this site before and irl too. they just seek and need constant validation from men. and also don't seem to get along well with other women.

It's a pejorative term that is usually used by "modern women" (i. e., career-focused "girl bosses" who "don't need no man") to describe "traditional women" who have traditional values and prefer and respect traditional gender roles (i. e., women who want to be housewives and have and raise children). Because these traditional women have the gall to actually learn and care about what most men want in a potential wife, and try to embody those things (which does NOT mean she doesn't have plenty of standards and expectations of her own for and of the man), they call her a "pick me" because she is choosing to be what men want in a wife, and are thus likely to be chosen as a wife.

As you might expect, this term comes from the radical feminist movement and is gleefully spread by it whenever they encounter traditional women. It's shaming language, because that's how women attack: shaming and reputation destruction.

Feminism, in case you aren't aware, is specifically and intentionally against marriage and male/female relationships in general, and they have no problem saying so when they're talking to their own disciples.

It's not. It's completely backwards, in fact.

The girls who are labeled "pick me's" are those who are looking for serious relationships/marriage and who DON'T have casual sex and generally don't wear clothes that expose 7/8ths of their body to go grocery shopping. You'll find that in nearly all cases, the ones shaming a woman with that term ARE the ones who have 3 or 4 digit body counts and are dressed in clothes that appear to be either shrink-wrapped on or show about as much skin as a Brazilian micro-bikini.

And while those ("modern") women get BANGED a lot by hot and/or successful men, and sometimes get to share the lifestyle of top men for short amounts of time, they are NOT the women who get wifed up. Which is why they are upset at the women who DO get wifed up, and lave labeled such women as "pick me's" (i. e., women who actually care to be the kind of woman that men want for a wife.)

It is a shame term usually thrown at traditional women, those with family oriented values and who tend to not sleep around, by career women, boss/babe women who are ardent feminists and who sleep around and live this "career is my life", let's hti the clubs and sleep around for all of my 20's.

I'm sure the title and meaning of "pick me girl" will have a variety of different presentations, depending on age and life goals.
She might be really excited about the prospect of a new beau, or perhaps she's had a long time crush on the single guy she yearns for who recently decided to enter the dating scene. Hopefully she's ready for a real relationship and won't be used by somebody looking to get lucky who is a good actor.

That's the spin, and perhaps the perception of the women using the term, but that's not the reality.

It's a term used by "modern" (i. e., strong-and-independent, 'I don't need no man') women to shame traditional women who want to be housewives and mothers and who are happy to please their husbands, and be the type of women that men want to marry. "Modern" women have been taught to hate such "traditional" women and shame them relentlessly, because men will marry traditional women but largely just use "modern" women for casual sex, and as much as they will tell you how "empowered" they are by sleeping around, it actually makes most women miserable. And miserable women much prefer to make everyone else miserable too, rather than change anything about themselves.
