Whats the difference:Partners or Girlfriend or Lovers?

My boyfriend called me a partner...

so I was a bit sad and he asked whats wrong, via whatsapp.

I explained. He cheered me up, sang a funny song to make me smile.

I said im greatful he is there for me and that i feel my true self with him, I feel really good.

He said : thats part of a game, being a partner just being yourself and being able to tell them everything.

I've never been called a partner.

Is it worse than girlfriend? or better?

or soulmate? whats the differences and whats the meaning behind it

Hmm partner can mean different things to different people. To me, calling someone your partner seems more serious than just a girlfriend.

Like a partner is someone you see as an equal, someone you do life with and support each other through everything. It makes it sound more committed I guess.

Girlfriend can sometimes seem more casual or like you're just dating. But a partner is someone you really care about and plan to be with for a long time, maybe even forever.

Soulmate is even deeper I think. That's the person you're truly meant to be with, who really "gets" you like no one else.

So don't be sad if he calls you his partner! To me that shows he sees you as super important to him and part of his life. As long as he treats you right and you're both happy, I don't think the label matters that much. Sounds like he really cares about you.

Why theb he cancelled our date on Saturday passing it to Sunday
He said he wants to meet with his friends

He didn't say babe come over or smth like that
He is distant

Hmm that is a bit weird that he cancelled your plans to see his friends instead. And only wanting to meet once a week when you're not together all the time is kind of distant.

As for the singing, I think maybe he's just trying to cheer you up and stay connected since you can't see each other as much. But the goodnight messages telling you to meditate and not saying something more affectionate is odd too.

It almost seems like he's putting up a bit of an emotional wall instead of being as intimate as a boyfriend should. Maybe he's busy with other stuff and not making you a priority right now. Or possibly losing some interest.

I'd say try talking to him again and be straight up about how his actions are making you feel. Like you want more effort and closeness from him in the relationship. See how he responds to that. If he keeps being wishy washy with plans and affection, you might have to reconsider things.

Don't settle for just being an option when it's convenient for him. You deserve someone who gets excited to see you as much as you do them! Keep me posted on what happens after you chat with him. Hope it works out for the best.

Don't worry partners a good thing that means your best friends he's going to run it by you first make sure everything's cool.

When you married you have a partner when you're in business you have a partner when you have respect what the person that you're going out with and they call you partner it's a good thing

What we want in life is to have a partner to share all of life’s joys and sorrows. To me a partner is who you share everything with…. A lover is someone you share sex with. Girlfriends… well we can have a few of those at a time. Partner is where it’s at!

my wife is my partner, girlfriend wife lover. for me they are largely synonymous though others like to have the multiple definitions
