Questions like this are counterproductive to your healing process because all it will do is make you more upset that he wouldn’t change for you. Men like him have a lot of growing and healing to do, he’s probably not mentally in a place to be with her or anyone else for that matter yet he still dates and puts women through the wringer. You know this guy is bad for you and it’s not going anywhere with him, so why not stop keeping tabs and giving such a damn about him? You can do a lot better.
No one really knows, but he will probably struggle with mental illness similarly. I think the bigger issue would be being a drug addict. That's not so good for relationships. More importantly, it would probably be prudent to not really give a shit and move on with your life.

He's going to keep cheating on you. And you're just going to keep chasing him forever. As long as you enjoy it, everything will be fine. Stop worrying so much about it, and just go with the flow.
