It's just a biological function. So really the same thoughts as any other biological function. Just have a basic idea of how it works, what it's there for, what problems it can cause and how to address them. Then move on to something more pressing.

What kind of opinions do you think we should have?

They're an aspect of human female physiology. A traditional Anishinaabe (Chippewa) practice involved having a small house where women would stay away from most other people while on their periods. As long as it would be voluntarily chosen by her to go there, I approve of that custom.

Periods scare me because I always heard that women get really emotional, and some become really mean. One man I know, was going to divorce his wife over her period, because whenever she was having it, she was mean to him and the kids. But finally she got on some medication and I guess it saved the marriage. My problem too, is that I never know when a woman is on her period. If I knew, then I would avoid her until it was over.
