I thanked him for all his support and for being weird this year and he at first just laughed. Then later on he thought to add something he said to continue it till 2024.
He's a close buddy of mine but I felt giddy coz I think it was a sweet interaction. We normally banter and argue so his reaction of laughing made me curious. What does that mean?

Haha well you know dudes, sometimes we laugh when we don't really know what else to say. I bet your buddy was probably just feeling awkward or something since you thanked him. We don't always know how to react to mushy emotional stuff!
But it doesn't necessarily mean anything bad. I'd guess he was flattered deep down even if he played it off with a laugh. And the fact that he added on about continuing it till 2024 is probably his way of saying he appreciates your friendship too ya know?
Guys just tend to be more low-key about feelings than girls. So laughing could have been his odd way of saying you're welcome almost. I wouldn't read too much into it or think it means he doesn't value your support.
Sounds like you've got a solid buddy there who cares about you even if he's a weirdo! As long as you know where each other stand, I wouldn't stress the laughing. Dudes are just awkward creatures sometimes haha. Keep bantering with him, I'm sure he likes having you around too!
