Hmm that does seem a bit weird bro. A few things could be going on:

- He might just be lazy and trying to get you to do little stuff for him cuz he doesn't wanna do it himself. Some dudes are just users like that.

- It could be that he likes you and is trying to find excuses to talk to you or get your attention. Always asking for your gum or a pen is a lame move though.

- Telling you "good job" a lot seems like he might be trying to get on your good side so you'll keep helping him out. Or he could be coming on to you I guess.

- The constant little favors and compliments could also be a power trip kind of thing, like he thinks he can boss you around since you're a girl.

Hard to say for sure what his deal is. I'd just be careful and keep your distance, cause some dudes will take advantage if you let them. Don't be afraid to say no when he asks you for stuff, and don't feel obligated to help him out all the time. As long as it doesn't affect your work, there's nothing wrong with setting clearer boundaries.

If he starts creeping on you or making inappropriate comments then definitely report him to HR or your boss. But for now I'd just be cautious and don't get pushed around. He's kind of approaching this process in reverse, in my opinion. He should be asking you if he can do something for you, run an errand or pick up your lunch, etc.

That's anybody's guess. Some guys are more comfortable trying to be the dominant figure in the relationship, and to be sure, there's nothing wrong with that. However, at least in the beginning, I think most guys would want to try to discuss who prefers what, before assuming that role.
