The walk. The talk. The dress style. The things he says and the tone he says it in. Certain hobbies and skills. If he is protective and knows when to stand for something or standup for someone. Not being afraid to cry in an appropriate situation.

in my opinion the toughness that we can "chide" each other. we men give and get harsh words and are tough enough to not complain about "he is so rude" etc.
