In my experience it's the same reason that boys used to pull your hair and tease you in kindergarten. They like you.

Some things don't change. High school boys tease and make fun of girls they have a crush on. Sometimes its because they are just immature or unexperienced, but it can also be because they dont want their friends to know. Especially if you aren't considered to be one of the pretty or popular girls in school.

Because kids are cruel and evil. People will laugh at others as a group ‘attack’ picking that individual out for what can be bullying. Also with some guys it may be nervousness not sure what to say, embarrassed and laughing it’s their defence measure.
