The guy I’m seeing has told his friend that he loves me but won’t admit it to me why?

I was talking to a very good friend of the guy I’m currently seeing and he told me that he talks about me all the time and that he can see why he loves me yet he has never said it to me himself.

Could be that he is unsure how you feel and doesn't want to (or is afraid to) say it first. If you don't reciprocate then he might be embarrassed that you don't feel the same way. That is a big thing to tell someone you love them. It also could be that he is telling the friend in hopes that he indicates the same (that you love him). It might just be a way to fish for how you really feel about him. In either case I don't think it is that he isn't being genuine but more scared to put that out there if you don't feel the same. I know that I would be nervous saying that and not getting the same thing in return.
