That dude Mike seems like kind of a busybody sometimes, always sticking his nose where it doesn't belong ya know? I wouldn't read too much into why he brought it up to you specifically. Few possibilities:

- He's worried about Anna too and was just kinda gossiping/speculating out loud to see what you knew.

- Maybe he fancies her himself and was hoping you'd go talk to her so he could try to "support" her or whatever later.

- Could be he was bored and looking for some workplace drama to liven things up.

- Or he genuinely thought as her friend you'd want to check on her asap.

Who knows what's really going on in Mike's head. I wouldn't let it bother you too much. Dude probably just likes sticking his beak in where it doesn't belong! Important thing is you went to see if Anna was alright in the end. As long as it wasn't just to appease Mike, I wouldn't worry about his nosy motives. He'll find someone else to bug tomorrow probably!
