My friend and I got lunch over the weekend. My friend told me that when he was telling his roommates he was going to get lunch with me, they asked if we were dating. He told them, no, that I am the type of girl he would never date, but also would protect me from a bunch of idiots like them (he said they are a bunch of losers). They asked if he was "getting some" from me and he told them "No, she's just my cleansing pallet away from you guys."

I was on the phone with my aunt that I am close with this morning and she told me that he is wrong for telling me that. I honestly thought it was pretty funny, considering I am a very chill person. My aunt said he is a jerk and that I should be hanging out with people who respect me.

Is my aunt right?

Like it sounds like his roommates were giving him shit like guys do, implying you were hooking up or whatever. And he shut that down real quick by being like nah she's just a cool girl to chill with and get away from you clowns for a bit.

I'm sure he didn't mean it in a using you kind of way. More like you're an escape from their bullshit kinda way. And it's dope he said he'd protect you from dudes like them too, shows he respects you.

I'd say don't read too much into it. He's probably just awkward asf explaining guy talk to a lady, haha. As long as you're vibing who cares what label he threw on it?

To me, it sounds like you’re opposite of his friends and it’s nice to have feeding from not only a woman but someone with different views. I’m not sure if I’d specify what he said as rude or disrespectful, maybe if you had feelings for him and that was all he chopped your connection up to. But if you’re fine with it then I don’t see an issue.
