A guy I’ve been noticing at church approached me one day, walked me to my car, and mentioned asking for my number or going out and I referred to Instagram first a place I would like to start off. He never messaged me but the following Sunday I decided to reach out to say hey because I didn’t see him in church. We made small talk through Instagram messenger and he was asking me about my work schedule and days off.

Following Sunday, I see him and he jumps up to give me a hug. I leave early and he followed along as well and walked with me. He brought up wanting to go to an event with me but I informed him I worked and told him my day off but he works. He mentioned that we’ll figure something out with our schedule. He walked me to my car again and we socialized. I decided to give him my number and he said he would call.

It’s been a week and one day and he never called.
Thoughts?

Like on the one hand, he seemed really into you at church when you guys were chatting, giving you hugs and walking you to your car and all that. But then for him to not even message you on Instagram or anything after you gave him your number? That's weak sauce.

If it were me, I wouldn't totally write him off yet since it has only been a week. But I'd definitely be wary. He could just be super busy or shy, you never know. But his actions so far haven't backed up his words about wanting to take you out. I'd say reach back out to him one more time, maybe ask him straight up if he's still interested or what his deal is. See how he responds.

Pay attention to if he puts in any real effort to make plans with you after that. If he just gives excuses or doesn't follow through with anything, then he's probably just frontin'. You don't need that kind of wishy-washy flaky stuff in your life. But give him a chance to step up before dumping him fully. If he doesn't shape up, there's better dudes out there who will appreciate you!
