Probably likes you and maybe spends more time on the job with you than his wife at home. I would that it is a joke and just go along with it as long as it doesn’t get too personal!

Do you work together a lot? He probably figures that the two of you make a great team. At least at work.

We used to, not so much anymore since I’ve cut my hours there although he still says it. We also socialise outside of work too in terms of fitness.

If him calling you his wife bothers you. Ask him to stop. I still believe he is having fun with you and doesn’t mean anything by it. You two probably spend more time together than most married couples.

It doesn’t bother me. I was just curious as to what might be behind it. He finds me attractive though, he’s said that too.
