I just want to train in peace and he already invited himself over to start talking to me and interrogating me on my 130kg hip thrust weight asking if I’d manage it then just lingering all the time staring and smiling it’s a bit much. I had a bad experience with a male employee finding me on insta and reaching out to me and just felt mehhhh about being approached by a guy again

It's understandable. Tell him you aren't interested in having conversations. Tell the gym manager if keeps bothering you

I think he got the memo today when he said hi and i said hi back, but firmly, didn’t hold eye contact and kept doing what i was doing. I obviously know being civil is vital but at the same time I am a woman, sometimes it’s normal to feel unsure around certain men if they are watching, lingering, inviting themselves over to talk. It’s not exactly the behaviour of someone sincere
