Why does this guy follow me at gym, but not respond when I try to talk to him?

Everytime I go into leg room at the gym this cute guy shows up within 5 minutes. I smile at him and say good morning or HI, but he never responds. He tries to show off and get my attention. My friends have noticed his interest in following me. We are puzzled. Since we are both older and he is a total Alpha male. I cannot imagine that he is shy. Even though he never talks to other women either. This has been going on for 6+ months. It is driving me crazy. Please Help!
