Why do guys brag about getting women to women they like?

Question

I've been talking to a guy for about two weeks (he initiated it and gave me his number) who always compliments me calls me pretty etc and flirts with me.

He also brags about all the women he has dated and that he gets hit on a lot - why do this to a girl you are flirting with? I am happy to just be friends with him really but I just don't get why guys do this. Is it to make themselves seen more attractive?

Clearly you're not aware with how the male side of the dating atmosphere is, lol. Now I will say that it's messed up on his part to brag and boast about it to others, especially women he's talking to. But as far as him feeling good, it's easy to see why because majority guys struggle with getting just one woman to be attracted to them on a frequent basis. In fact 1/3 men who are 30 and younger are either virgins or haven't had sex in a year unwillingly, but that's not the case for women. You ladies get hit on every day left and right. Guys, we NEVER get hit on unless it's a blue moon, and 9/10 times we gotta pursue and majority of us fall flat on our face. So if we're able to attract a lot of women like this guy seems to have, we're gonna feel prideful and happy about it. Now he shouldn't be boasting about it to others, but I get why he's happy with himself.

On some real shit though, I quit wearing my wedding ring so that women would stop hitting on me. I know, I know, the total opposite of what that ring was supposed to do, I know right? But just ask any dude that isn't a beta-bucks type of dude when the women hit on him the most... it's when they know you have women already.

His experience is questionable as he talks to you as he would talk to his guy friends, he thinks he telling you this is proving to you that he is desirable (proven by his sucess in women). Truly experienced men with any salt in their brain know what this just puts women off cause the woman that considers him as a love doesn't want to hear about his relationships with other women.

If a guy talked to me like that, as if I was one of the guys, I would think he wasn’t interested. It’s possible that he wants you to think he’s a great catch, but he’s just going about it in the wrong way. There’s no need to convince a lady you’re a great catch by bragging about all the girls you’ve been with.

I don’t do this anymore but I’d be lying if I said I never have, the weird thing is I didn’t even realize I was doing it. The best conclusion I could come up with is to make you jealous, like a supply and demand situation. If other girls want me then you will pursue me harder. Even though traditionally men are supposed to make the first move we are scared shitless of you.

Sounds like a man-boy who is still using his college pick up technique to try and impress you. Clearly he is failing. I would t take him too seriously strictly for maturity reasons but maybe just for fun next time he talks about some girl you immediately talk about some guy you supposedly went out with. Match him one for one. Either he will be smart enough to realize he’s being a douche or he will get annoyed which, honestly, is kind of funny.

expell the guy , he more then likely is lying to impress you either bcoz you gave him the wrong impression (you have multiple men friends)

or you are generally not known as an easy catch !!! (women like to appear reserved and ice cold , so by him bragging to you about numbers, his trying to let you know that his well versed with female psychology).

the relationship/friendship is a turn off and a disaster from the get go.

Generally because woman compete for male attention and use preselection as a means of choosing which ones are valuable.

if a man has women interested in him, he magically “must be something”

if a guy has no women interested in him, they generally don’t want to waste the time to risk checking if he is good or not.
